Jonathan Mayhew (October 8, 1720 – July 9, 1766) was a minister at Old West Church, Boston, Massachusetts. Mayhew urged colonial union to secure liberties, and was famous for his sermons which espoused the cause of liberty and the right and duty to resist tyranny. Some have said that
“A Discourse on Unlimited Submission” was the first volley of the American Revolution, setting forth the intellectual and scriptural justification for rebellion against the Crown.

The PDF is about over 500 pages but the sermon”A Discourse on Unlimited Submission” is the first 66 pages (1/2 pages).
